Tai O lies in the west of New Territories and Dayushan, the largest islet within Hong kong. Tai O is home to the Tanka people, a community of fisher folk who’ve built their houses on stilts above the tidal flats of Lantau Island for generations. These unusual structures are interconnected, forming a tightly-knit community that literally lives on the water. Their enchanting world is a photographer's paradise.

Tai o is the earliest fish village on this islet. Divided by into two parts by Sanyong village, the vertical and horizontal waterways and the houses on stilts above the water is a unique spot in Tai O. Therefore, Tai O also enjoys the reputation of the Venice in Hong kong.

Nearby Tai O, Dayushan island, covering an area of 146 square meters, is a good place for visitors to have fun. It has not been totally exploited for its inconvenient transportation which makes it a nice place for citizens to take a vacation.
