Visit Five Rams Statue
Located atop Yuexiu Hill, the Five Rams Statue was built in 1960 from more than 130 pieces of granite. The statue represents the five rams who gave Guangzhou its nickname "City of Rams" and depicts the symbol of Guangzhou: five mythical rams who bore five immortals - the city's founders 2000 years ago. Back then, as legend goes, Guangzhou was barren; the rams carried sheaves of rice, teaching its residents how to grow rice and ending the specter of famine forever, ensuring an eternity of bumper harvests. When the immortals departed, the rams turned to stone.

Visit Museum of the Mausoleum of the Nanyue King
The Museum of the Mausoleum of the Nanyue King houses the 2,000-year-old tomb of the Nanyue King Zhao Mo who ruled from 137 BC to 122 BC. Hidden 20 meters (65.6 feet) underground, the tomb is made up of 750 huge stones with colorful murals. The tomb has yielded more than 1,000 burial artifacts, a chariot, gold and silver vessels, musical instruments, and human sacrifices were found (15 courtiers were buried alive with him to serve him in death). It is also among the only tombs of the early Western Han dynasty that has murals on its walls.

Visit Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall
The Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall is an octagon-shaped building constructed with funds raised by local and overseas Chinese people in memory of Sun Yat-sen. Considered to be the "Father of Modern China", Sun Yat-sen fought against the imperial Qing government and after the 1911 revolution ended the monarchy, and founded the Republic of China. Construction work of the hall commenced in 1929 and completed in 1931. The hall is a large octagonal structure with a span of 71 meters without pillars, housing a large stage and seats 3,240 people.

Visit Chen Clan Ancestral Hall
The Chen Clan Ancestral Hall is an academic temple built by the 72 Chen clans for their juniors' accommodation and preparation for the imperial examinations in 1894 in Qing Dynasty. Later it was changed to be the Chen Clan's Industry College, and then middle schools afterward. Now it houses the Guangdong Folk Art Museum. The Chen Clan Ancestral Hall is a symmetric complex consist of 19 buildings with nine halls and six courtyards. Facing south, the complex forms around a north-south axis. A large collection of southern China art pieces, for example, wood carvings and pottery, can be found in the structure. The Chen Clan Ancestral Hall complex exemplifies traditional Chinese architecture and decoration style, and has influenced cultural and architectural developments worldwide.

Visit Temple of the Six Banyan Trees
The Temple of the Six Banyan Trees was first built in AD537 to enshrine Buddhist relics brought over from India and placed in the octagonal Decorated Pagoda. The temple was given its current name by the exiled poet Su Dongbo in 1099, who wrote lyrical over the banyans in the courtyard. Though not the original trees, the current banyans are over 170 years old. You can see the character's 'six banyans' that Su wrote above the gates. Many prominent monks taught here, including Bodhidharma, the founder of Zen Buddhism. The Flower Pagoda, the main structure of the temple, was built in 1097 and was named for its colorful exterior. The Flower Pagoda once had a square base in its architecture, but was given an octagonal shaped base after it was rebuilt in 1097. It was rebuilt again in 1373 after another fire in the early Ming dynasty period and restored in 1900.

Visit Canton Tower
The Canton Tower, formally Guangzhou TV Astronomical and Sightseeing Tower, is a 604-meter (1,982 ft)-tall multipurpose observation tower. The tower was topped out in 2009 and it became operational on 29 September 2010 for the 2010 Asian Games. The tower briefly held the title of tallest tower in the world, replacing the CN Tower, before being surpassed by the Tokyo Skytree. It was the tallest structure in China prior to the topping out of the Shanghai Tower on 3 August 2013, and is now the second tallest tower and the fourth-tallest freestanding structure in the world.
