What to Expect at Haizhiyun Park
Haizhiyun Park offers not merely a taste of nature or a glimpse of the sea, but a complete immersion in both. Follow the hiking trails shaded by ancient trees, the air alive with birdsong, and emerge onto a clifftop where the vast ocean stretches before you, a canvas of ever-shifting blues and greens. The experience lingers in memory long after departure.

The “Undersea” Grand Canyon
The “Undersea” Grand Canyon at Haizhiyun Park is a breathtaking landmark. Towering rock walls flank the canyon, adorned with incredibly lifelike sculptures of marine creatures, transforming the hiking trails into an enchanting underwater exploration. A giant squid extends its tentacles, while slender moray eels wind along the cliffs. Schools of small fish appear to dart playfully through the air, and a menagerie of other marine life—including fish, sea urchins, anemones, octopuses— is frozen mid-motion. You can playfully interact with the sculptures, petting a giant hammerhead shark or trying to take down a giant squid—creating memorable images for social media.

Haizhiyun Square
Located just north of the park entrance, Haizhiyun Square opens up to the sky. A large, modern sculpture dominates the square. Five sleek, metallic forms, each 19.9 meters (65.3 ft) long, curve and swirl in wave-like patterns, suggesting a soaring dragon. Fifty metallic spheres of varying sizes punctuate the flowing lines, some appearing to float in mid-air. Silhouettes of seagulls, perched or in mid-flight, are integrated into the metalwork, adding a sense of movement and life. Nearby, an international conference center, a fountain, and a yacht marina offer a range of attractions. The square’s seaside location affords panoramic ocean views and refreshing breezes.

The Mystery Slope
The Mystery Slope is a truly baffling attraction. Its claim to fame is its defiance of physics: going uphill feels strangely effortless, almost as if an unseen force is pulling you upwards, while descending requires unexpected exertion. This peculiar phenomenon, where visual perception contradicts physical sensation, has spawned various theories. Some suggest magnetic fields or optical illusions are at play, while others attribute it to a unique geological structure. It’s definitely worth experiencing.
