Introducing Bangchuidao Island
Bangchuidao Scenic Area consists of Bangchuidao Island and Bangchuidao Hotel. The Bangchuidao Island lies at the east end of Beach Road, a short drive along Binhai Lu, home to Numerous Party Members and Football stars. Since the ginseng shaped island looks like a Bangchui - a wooden baton used by ancient Chinese as a washing tool, it was named Bangchuidao by the local people.

What to expect at Bangchuidao Island

Surrounded by mountains on the north, endless grass, and vast sea and smooth beaches on the south, Bangchuidao Island is a natural fairyland, covering only 0.3 square kilometers. From here, there are good views of Sanshan Island, which is often shrouded in mist by dense fog all year round. Here visitors can catch conch, crab and sea slug along the coast. It makes an ideal choice for a summer vacationing spot due to the mild climate, white sand beaches, clear water and gentle waves. Because of its natural beauty, Dalian State Hotel has set up villas on the mountainside with different buildings scattered in the green woods, contributing to the beauty.

Because a lot of important meets of Chinese government were held in Dalian and leaders of Chinese and others often came to Dalian to inspect or visit, Dalian government built a hotel especially from 1959 to 1961 here. Our dear president Zhou, chief committee man Zhude, chairman Liushaoqi and marshal Yejianying all has been here, as well as Chairman Huaguofeng Huyaobang Degnxiaoping Jiangzemin afterward. Bangchuidao Hotel is only national hotel in Dalian with a lot of modern entertainment such as standard golf ground, tennis ground, swimming pool, bowling etc. The Bangchuidao Island here was once reserved only for Party Members and stars, but today it is open to the public.

How to get to Bangchuidao Island
• Take bus No. 90 or Tourist Bus Loop Line to the scenic area (summer line).
• Take a taxi to the scenic area from downtown Dalian (about 20 minutes).

Additional travel advice on Bangchuidao Island
• It is suggested to prepare some food and drinkable water as no much vendors selling them and prices are high in the scenic area.
• UV is very strong by the sea. Please wear sunscreen, hat and sunglasses to prevent sunburns.
