Polar Marine Exhibit
Opened in 2000, the Park’s Polar Marine Exhibit was a pioneering facility in China, showcasing a diverse collection of marine life with an emphasis on polar species. The exhibit houses beluga whales, walruses, penguins, polar bears, and sea lions, charming visitors with their unique behaviors. A key attraction is the 2,000-seat marine animal performance arena, where highly trained dolphins perform breathtaking leaps, synchronized swimming routines, and even dance with their trainers. In the underwater plaza, the mesmerizing “Golden Cyclone” show features thousands of golden trevally swirling around divers at incredible speed. Moreover, a sunning shark show, featuring divers hand-feeding sand tiger sharks, playfully interacting with zebra sharks, and navigating through vibrant coral reefs teeming with colorful fish, offers a visceral connection to the ocean’s apex predators.

Coral Reef Exhibit
The Coral Reef Exhibit, a key attraction among the ocean park’s five main exhibits, showcases the vibrant biodiversity of Southwest Pacific coral reefs. Featuring incredibly lifelike artificial rock formations, the exhibit houses over 5,000 creatures representing more than 300 species, including live corals, sea anemones, diverse shellfish, and a dazzling array of colorful reef fish. Visitors can enjoy interactive experiences such as fish feeding, viewing coral reefs through special microscopes, and scuba diving amongst the fish.

The Bird Forest
Within Laohutan Scenic Park’s southwest corner lies the Bird Forest (also known as Singing Birds Woods), a sprawling 45,000-square-meter (11.2-acre) semi-natural aviary. Pavilions dot the landscape amidst lush foliage and tranquil ponds, composing a serene haven for over 80 species and more than 2,000 birds. Scarlet ibises flash vibrant hues, blue and white peacocks strut their iridescent plumage, and red-crowned and wattled cranes stand tall in elegant repose. Crested ibises, flamingos, egrets, South American parrots, toucans, and golden eagles add to the vibrant tapestry of avian life. The aviary’s design encourages intimate observation of these diverse and captivating creatures.

Beyond observation, the Bird Forest offers dynamic displays of avian prowess. Trained parrots mimic sounds with astonishing accuracy, while eagles command the sky with breathtaking aerial demonstrations. Interactive experiences, including pelican feedings and mesmerizing crane dances, further deepen engagement with these remarkable creatures.

The Oceanarium
The Oceanarium houses nearly one hundred large marine mammals, including fur seals, harbor seals, and California sea lions. Visitors can observe these animals from three vantage points: underwater, at the surface, and from above, providing intimate views of their diverse behaviors and offering an authentic glimpse into their world. Opportunities for hand-feeding the sea lions further enhance the experience.

The Pirate Village
Pirate Village is a cartoon-themed amusement park designed around exciting pirate adventures. Its star attraction, “The Pirate Ship,” is a unique and eye-catching spectacle. Perched high on a platform overlooking the sea, this massive swing reaches a dizzying height of 13.5 meters (44.3 ft) and sweeps through a 120-degree arc. Riders experience the thrilling sensation of rocking over the ocean, even feeling moments of weightlessness. Beyond the iconic Pirate Ship, Pirate Village offers a variety of other attractions, such as a sea creature-themed merry-go-round, further immersing visitors of all ages in a playful and adventurous pirate world.
