Know Before You Go
• Keep your passport with you throughout the tour; it may be needed to buy entrance tickets.
• Pickup time, guide's name, and contact information will be confirmed via WhatsApp or email.
• Your guide will be at the meeting point, holding a GGC pickup sign with your name.

• If you book an Airbnb, please note that door-to-door pickup and drop-off might not be provided.
• There's a 20-minute grace period for waiting. Failure to show up will result in tour cancellation & no refund.
Hotel Pickup, Transfer to Shaoshan Village
Your private guide will be holding GoGrandChina pickup sign and waiting for you in your hotel lobby (or other appointed meeting place) at the appointed time. You will be transferred to Shaoshan Village (approximately 70km, 1 hour driving) in a comfortable private vehicle.
Visit Shaoshan Village
Shaoshan Village is the birthplace of Mao Zedong, the founder of the People's Republic of China who was China’s leader from 1949 until his death in 1976. Shaoshan was an important base during the Chinese Communist Revolution. Red tourism to Shaoshan and other places related to China's communist background has driven the local economy, while increasing people's understanding of China's revolutionary history. Chairman Mao spend his early years in the village of Shaoshan. Visit Dripping Water Cave upon arrival at Shaoshan. Located 3km from the Former Residence of Mao, Building No.1 of Dripping Water Cave was built during the Culture Revolution for Chairman Mao Zedong with an earthquake proof room, as well as an atomic shelter inside the building. Next, head to the Former Residence of Mao Zedong. Built with mud bricks and tiles, the house demonstrates the family’s peasant lifestyle, with farm implements, such as hoes, shoulder poles and buckets. Afterwards, visit Mao Ancestral Temple which houses 100 pieces of Mao Zedong's manuscripts and 72 items of Mao's personal belongings.
