Golden Summit of Taoist Complex
Perched atop Laojun Mountain, the Golden Summit of the Taoist Complex is a breathtaking ensemble of architectural wonders. Designed in the opulent style of Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1912) dynasty imperial palaces, this mountaintop sanctuary boasts a collection of remarkable structures, including Laojun Temple, Daode Mansion, Wumu Golden Hall, and Liangbao Terrace. Visitors will also discover the Jade Emperor Summit, Bell and Drum Towers, South Heavenly Gate, Chaoyang Cave, Dadao Courtyard and Shendao Bridge. Among these, the Wumu Golden Hall, Liangbao Terrace, and Jade Emperor Summit, with their golden tops, shine as beacons of architectural brilliance.

Taiqing Temple
Taiqing Temple boasts a history as enduring as the mountain itself. Originally constructed during the Northern Wei Dynasty (386-534), the temple has witnessed the ebb and flow of time, undergoing numerous renovations and expansions throughout the centuries. It was during the Ming dynasty (1368-1644), however, that Taiqing Temple truly flourished, reaching its zenith in both grandeur and renown. The temple was adorned with enduring iron beams, intricate iron tiles, and dazzling golden decorations, marking its status as a true architectural marvel.

Longyin Pavilion
Longyin Pavilion offers visitors more than just a feast for the eyes – it’s a symphony for the ears as well. Perfectly situated to capture the music of nature, the pavilion overlooks a dramatic scene. The mountain stream, shaped by ancient rocks, transforms into a rushing torrent that cascades into deep pools below, creating over a dozen waterfalls, each contributing to a symphony of sound. The air hums with the energy of the rushing water, creating an immersive experience that lingers long after visitors depart.

Stone Forest
Prepare to be amazed by a geological marvel on Laojun Mountain – the Stone Forest. This isn’t a typical forest; here, towering stone pillars and jagged peaks, seemingly sculpted by the hands of titans, pierce the sky. The landscape is a vibrant tapestry of textures and hues, where emerald green foliage meets the fiery red of the unique porphyritic biotite monzogranite, a relatively young rock formation born between 140 and 80 million years ago. Every turn in this “Stone Gallery” reveals a new and captivating vista, each worthy of framing in a grand museum of nature.

Dreamchaser’s Gorge
The Dreamchaser’s Gorge, a seldom-visited grand canyon, features a three-mile stretch of primeval forest with a dense canopy that blocks out the sky. Renowned for its stunning mountains, clear waters, and the Bauhinia flowers that bloom from March to April, this area transforms into a dreamlike paradise that justifies its name. It was here that the famous philosopher Laozi began his westward journey through Hangu Pass into the depths of the Funiu Mountains, seeking a place to retreat. This arduous journey through Dreamchaser’s Gorge ultimately led him to become a revered teacher and the founder of Taoism.
