Hotel Pick-up & Transfer to Dragon's Backbone Rice Terraces
Your private guide will be holding GoGrandChina pick-up sign and waiting for you in your hotel lobby (or other appointed meeting place) at the appointed time. You will be transferred to Dragon's Backbone Rice Terraces (2 hours & 30 minutes).

Visit Ping'an Zhuang Minority Village (60 minutes)
Nestled high in the mountains and surrounded by the stunning Longji Terraced Rice Fields, Ping’an Zhuang minority village is home to around 80 Zhuang ethnic households. The village has preserved its traditional three-story wooden buildings, many of which are over 100 years old. These rectangular houses are constructed primarily of timber and have a high-foot railing style. Domestic animals are kept on the first level, while villagers reside on the upper levels. The charming village is built in layers along the hillside, with stone paths and staircases weaving between buildings. Water is abundant, flowing in streams, rivulets, and channeled through bamboo pipes. The Zhuang people of Ping’an have maintained their traditional dress and customs, with men wearing short gowns made of hand-loomed cloth and women donning white shirts, black pants, and brightly colored headcloths.

Visit Dragon's Backbone Rice Terraces
The Longji Rice Terraces, which translates to “Dragon’s Backbone,” are named for their resemblance to a dragon’s scales, with the mountain summit resembling the backbone. Spanning over 16,000 acres, the terraced fields were first created during the Yuan Dynasty and mostly built during the Ming Dynasty, around 500 years ago. The terraces are constructed along a slope that winds from the riverside to the mountain top, with an elevation ranging from 380 meters at the lowest point to 880 meters at the highest. The winding line that stretches from the base of the mountain to its peak separates it into layers that glisten with water in the spring sun, sprout green rice shoots in summer, turn golden with ripe rice in fall, and are covered in silvery frost in winter.

Your first stop will be at the No. 2 Viewing Platform, also known as Seven Stars with the Moon, where you’ll see seven terraced fields surrounding a small hill. From there, continue on to the No. 1 Viewing Platform, also known as Nine Dragons and Five Tigers, which is considered the most beautiful viewing point and the highlight of the day. Take in the breathtaking view of the terraced fields and reflect on the ingenuity and hard work of the Zhuang people who have cultivated this land, creating a harmonious balance between man and nature.

Transfer Back to Your Hotel
Transfer back to your hotel in downtown Guilin. The journey from Longji to downtown Guilin is approximately 108 km and takes around 2 hours. This trip concludes upon arrival at your hotel in Guilin.
