Day 1 Arrival in Tianjin, Tianjin Airport or Train Station Pick-up
Meet your guide at Tianjin airport or train stations and transfer to your hotel in a comfortable private vehicle. After getting settled at the hotel, you may explore Tianjin on your own. Tianjin (meaning literally “Heavenly Ford”) has been an important transport and trading centre since the Yuan (Mongol) dynasty (1206–1368). As a treaty port since 1860, Tianjin has been a major seaport and gateway to Beijing. Under the Qing dynasty and the Republic of China, Tianjin became one of the largest cities in North China. At that time, numerous European-style buildings and mansions were constructed in concessions, many of which are well-preserved today. Tianjin is noted for its woven handicraft products, terra-cotta figurines, and hand-painted woodblock prints.
