Visit Nannuo Mountain (Hani Village & Pu'er Tea Plantation)
Well-known for its long history of tea cultivation, Nannuo Mountain produces some of the best Pu'er tea in Yunnan province.  Ancient forests of tea trees dot the mountains and almost all of the new bushes cultivated and harvested by locals are cuttings from the nearby ancients. Among many of the tea trees aged between 200 and 500 years, the 800 years-old King of the Tea Trees soars to a height of nearly 15 meters. While Nannuo Pu'er teas are known generally as milder teas on the charts, there are differences in seasons, in villages and in families that produce the teas.

Lunch at Your Own Expense

Visit Jingzhen Octagonal Pavilion
Originally built in 1701, Jingzhen Octagonal Pavilion is a fusion of Southeast Asian and traditional Chinese architecture. It stands on the top of a hill in the shape of octagon. Built of brick and wooden structure, this pavillion is 21 meters tall and has 21 surfaces and 32 corners. Walls are decorated with reliefs of animals, including elephants, lions and tigers. It is a place where the senior Buddhist monks give lectures on Buddhist sutra. The original structure was severely damaged during the Cultural Revolution. The current pavillion was reconstructed in 1978. The paintings on the wall of the temple depict scenes from the Jatatka, the life history of Buddha.
