Built on the former site of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) Baiyi Temple, Lanzhou Museum houses a remarkable collection of 12,633 cultural relics. The diverse collection, encompassing pottery, porcelain, metalwork, stone carvings, jade, and paper artifacts, spans various historical periods. Standout pieces include the vibrant painted pottery of the Majiayao culture, exquisite calligraphy and paintings by renowned Gansu artists from the Ming and Qing (1644-1912) dynasties, and intriguing artifacts recovered from the Baiyi Temple. Notably, the Banshan colored pottery drum, Eastern Han Dynasty ink paper, and intricate Ming Dynasty jewelry crafts are considered exceptional examples within their respective categories.
