Know Before You Go

Hotel Pickup, Transfer to the Uyhur Opal Village
Your private guide will be holding GoGrandChina pick-up sign and waiting for you in your hotel lobby (or other appointed meeting place) at the appointed time. You will be transferred to the local Uyhur village of Opal on a private vehicle with guide (90 minutes).

Stop by the Uyhur Opal Village (30 minutes)
The Uyghur Opal Village is located 50 km (30 miles) outside of Kashgar. It used to be a summer resort of the Karakhanid Khanate a thousand years ago, and well worth a stop to wander through the ancient town and bazaar.

Stop by the Red Mountain
Drive from Opal Village for about 40 km (25 miles) to the Red Mountain.

Stop by the White Sand Mountain & Bulunkou Lake
Drive for another 70 km (45 miles) the White Sand Mountain. Stop and take pictures of the mountain’s reflection in the nearby Bulunkou Lake.

Drive to Karakul (Karakuli) Lake
Reach the Karakul (Karakuli) Lake After another 40 km drive. Karakul or Karakuli means Black Lake, which is a glacial alpine lake 3600 m (11,811 feet) above sea level, 30 meters (about 98 feet) deep and with a surface of ten square kilometers (about four square miles). The water is set against the majestic and mysterious Muztagh Ata Peak which is called the Father of Ice Mountains with an elevation of 7546 meters. With snow-capped mountains and rivers of the same color, the scenery of Karakul Lake is very charming. On the other side stands the Kongur Mountain (peak 7719) highest the Karakoram Highway which adds more beauty to this splendid unique lake. Kyrgiz Nomads live around the Karakul Lake. You can enjoy horse or camel ride at your own expense by the lake up in the high mountain of Kunlun.

Transfer Back to Your Hotel (4 hours)
