Introducing China National Tea Museum

China National Tea Museum (CNTM) in Hangzhou is the only national museum in China dedicated to tea and tea culture studies. China National Tea Museum is divided into two branches, with CNTM (Shuangfeng) established in April 1991, and CNTM (Longjing) opened in May 2015. Together, they span an impressive combined area of 122,000 square meters, with a building space measuring 13,000 square meters.

Currently, China National Tea Museum houses 3,865 artifacts, including teas, tea utensils, paintings, calligraphy, stamps, and other relics. It functions as a hub for showcasing and exchanging Chinese and global tea culture, attracting tourists with its tea-themed complex.

CNTM Shuangfeng

CNTM Shuangfeng is a open-air museum built not far from the West Lake. It comprises 5 distinct exhibition halls: the Tea History Hall, Tea Essence Hall, Tea Events Hall, Tea Utensils Hall, and Tea Customs Hall. Each hall offers unique perspectives on China’s tea tradition, fostering a comprehensive understanding of its rich heritage.

CNTM Longjing

CNTM Longjing sits atop the hills adjacent to Longjing village, offering a breathtaking view of tea plantations and the distant West Lake from its pavilions. Visitors can delight in its expansive 1.2-hectare tea gardens while absorbing educational insights about tea varieties along the way. It highlights tea cultures from five continents, providing visitors with a global tea lifestyle experience. Moreover, the exhibition center in CNTM Longjing features 6 tea-tasting areas where visitors can sample teas of different flavors and participate in traditional tea ceremonies.

• Take bus No. 27 or 87 or Tourist Line 3 and get off at Shuangfeng Station.
