Akhal-Teke Horses Breeding Base
The Akhal-Teke horse is known in China as the ‘Crimson Sweat Steed’ (汗血宝马). This name comes from the bright red color of its sweat, which resembles blood after running. Over two thousand years ago, the Han envoy Zhang Qian traveled to the Western Regions and reported to Emperor Wu, stating, ‘There are many fine horses in Dayuan (present-day Turkmenistan), and their sweat is red.’ Emperor Wu was greatly impressed and sent troops to Dayuan twice and eventually succeeded in obtaining these beautiful creatures.

Centuries later, these magnificent horses are no longer a prize of war but are treasured for their beauty and grace. Today, With over 400 Akhal-Teke horses alongside Arabian horses, miniature horses, Andalusian horses, and Przewalski’s horses, this breeding base offers a breathtaking display of equine diversity and a dream come true for horse enthusiasts.

Thrilling Equestrian Show

Witness skilled riders push the boundaries of horsemanship, guiding their mounts through intricate formations and breathtaking leaps. Feel the thunder of hooves as they pound across the arena, their manes like banners against the sky. This is more than just a show – it’s a symphony of motion and skill you won’t soon forget.

Wild Horse Art Museum
The Wild Horse Art Museum was established in 2010 and showcases artwork entirely centered around the theme of horses. Spanning an area of 3,200 square meters, the museum features eight themed exhibition halls, bringing together over 600 pieces by renowned painters from Europe, Asia, and China. These artists have used their exceptional painting skills to create stunning images that offer viewers a rich experience of color. Each piece is breathtaking and worthy of careful appreciation.

Jurassic Petrified Wood Forest Conservation Base
During the Jurassic period (200-145 million years ago), the region now known as Xinjiang was a lush landscape of dense forests and clear waterways. Towering southern pines, firs, and cypresses thrived until a volcanic eruption buried the landscape. As the trees sank into silica-rich sea beds, a remarkable transformation occurred. The silicon dioxide in the water gradually replaced the organic wood, preserving their structure in exquisite detail as petrified wood, often called “wood fossils.”

Xinjiang boasts one of the world’s largest concentrations of these Jurassic relics. And the park protects approximately 300 pieces, including the country’s longest petrified wood at an impressive 43 meters (141 ft).

Massive Meteorites and Rare Stones
Xinjiang Ancient Ecological Park is not only home to a diverse collection of petrified wood, but also boasts a breathtaking treasure trove of unique stones. Among these are smooth, round river stones in all shapes and sizes and wind-eroded stones sculpted by the forces of nature. Tons of Gobi Desert sand whisper tales of ancient seas and shifting sands. But Xinjiang Ancient Ecological Park holds more than just remnants of Earth’s history. A 3,000-ton deposit of iron meteorites, darkened by time, rests within the park, originating from the Altay grasslands. Mostly round and smooth, these meteorites are dotted with craters of varying sizes and depths, silent messengers from the cosmos.
