Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is named Mount Satseto in local Naxi language. Its highest peak is 5,596 m (18,360 ft) above sea level. The mountain is part of Yulong Snow Mountain National Scenic Area and National Geological Park. Cable cars take you to an observation platform at an elevation of 4,506 m (14,783 ft) and if you feel up to it you can climb a few hundred steps to one of the highest observation platforms in the world at an elevation of 4,680 m (15,350 ft) for close views of the snow peak. Visit Baisha Village
Baisha is named for the powdery white sand that decorates the surrounding countryside. It is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site that Lijiang Old Town and Shuhe Town both belong to. Baisha was the birthplace of the Mu clan, who were renowned for their skill and experience in city planning. They began expanding Baisha during the Tang Dynasty (618-907) and by the Song Dynasty (960-1279) it had blossomed into a thriving town. It remained  the political, commercial and cultural center for the local Naxi people and other ethnic groups for 400 years from the year 658 AD to 1107AD. The Dabaoji Palace of the Baisha Fresco was built in the year 658 AD in the Tang Dynasty (618 AD to 907 AD). In ancient times, Baisha village used to be the center of silk embroidery in the southwest of China and the most important place of the Ancient Southern Silk Road, also called the Ancient Tea Horse Road or Ancient tea route. In the central part of the village, there are a group of temples which boast access to the stunning Baisha Frescoes, of which there are only 55 still in existence. The frescoes were painted by artists from the Han, Naxi, Tibetan and Bai ethnic minorities and they are religious paintings reflecting famous stories from Buddhism, Tibetan Buddhism and Taoism.

Visit Black Dragon Pool
Black Dragon Pool is a famous pond in the scenic Jade Spring Park (Yu Quan Gong Yuan) located at the foot of Elephant Hill, a short walk north of the Old Town of Lijiang. It was built in 1737 during the Qing dynasty and offers views of the region's tallest mountain, Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, over its white marble bridge. The park features several smaller temples and pavilions: the Moon-Embracing Pavilion, Dragon God Temple and Five-Phoenix Tower. The Moon-Embracing Pavilion was originally built in the late Ming dynasty. The current structure is a reproduction from 1963 after a fire in 1950. The Dragon God Temple, was constructed by local Naxi people in 1737 and is located to the east of the park. It was given the name Dragon God of Jade Spring by the Qianlong Emperor of the Qing dynasty in the same year. The threefold overlap Five-Phoenix Tower was built in 1601 at the Fuguo Temple, which is 30 kilometers to the west, but was moved to the current location in 1979.

Stroll Along Lijiang Old Town
Lijiang Old Town has a history going back more than 1,000 years and was once a confluence for trade along the "Old Tea Horse Caravan Trail". Lijiang Old Town, which is perfectly adapted to the uneven topography of this key commercial and strategic site, has retained a historic townscape of high quality and authenticity. Its architecture is noteworthy for the blending of elements from several cultures that have come together over many centuries. Lijiang also possesses an ancient water-supply system of great complexity and ingenuity that still functions effectively today.
