Covering an expanse of 160 square kilometers (62 square miles), Mounigou Valley is nestled between elevations of 2,800 meters (9,186 feet) and 4,070 meters (13,353 feet). Mounigou Valley forms a part of the western segment of the Huanglong Scenic Area. Mounigou Valley is celebrated for its awe-inspiring mountain vistas, grand waterfalls, and the rich culture that envelops it. It is home to two primary attractions: Zhaga Waterfall and Erdaohai Scenic Area. Zhaga Waterfall is a marvel to witness. As China’s largest travertine waterfall, it stands tall at 93.2 meters (306 feet) with a width of 35 meters (115 feet). The waterfall produces a substantial mist and a thunderous sound as it tumbles down the travertine steps. Under the sunlight, the rock cliff of the waterfall exhibits a floral hue. Erdaohai Scenic Area is another treasure within Mounigou Valley. It is tucked away in a jungle that stretches over an area of 6,800 square meters (1.68 acres). This area boasts more than 400 lakes, including Swan Lake and Ginseng Lake. Erdaohai Lake stands out for its crystal-clear waters that transition from a light blue to a deep blue as the depth increases.

How to Get to Mounigou Valley
By air: Mounigou Valley is accessible by direct flights from Chengdu to Jiuhuang Airport, which is about 60 km (37 miles) away.
By bus from Chengdu: take a bus from Chengdu Chadianzi Station to Songpan County. Then, hire a local car or taxi to Mounigou Valley.
