Introducing Yangmei Ancient Town
Built in the Song Dynasty (960-1279) and developed in Ming dynasty, it met the most prosperous time in Qing dynasty, and the ancient architecture in Yangmei Ancient Town has kept well. Located in the downstream of Yangtze River, surrounded by waters on three sides, Yangmei Ancient Town covers an area of 6.5 square kilometers, and studded with well-preserved ancient streets, lanes, temples, houses, ports and trees, which can be dated back through the dynasties.

What to expect at Yangmei Ancient Town

In recent years, Yangmei Ancient Town has been more well-known with the development of the municipal government. When closing to the town, you will feel the elegance and gorgeous as the Chinese ink paintings. Bamboos are like jades standing in front of the clear pond, evergreen plants swaying in the breeze, the elegant raised roof looms in the distant, like the decorated plate over the Qing lady's head. Winding Zuo River passing by Yangmei Ancient Town quietly and slowly like a kintai. A glowing sunshine sheding on the river, the flat and white beach is the beginning of the fairy tale.

When you are in the town, it seems like you enter the film base of Ming and Qing. When you pace along the uneven stone road floored in the year of Daoguang, the different cracks on the deep-brown slate seems telling people ancient stories one by one. On the roadsides, the walls piled by bricks are austere and solemn. In the slit between bricks, the fragrant of brown sugar and glutinous rice can still be smelt. Several local people pass by, the leisure and serene expressions in their face are our most wanted thing.

• Yangmei Ancient Town is approximately 40 km away from Nanning.
• Take a tourist bus from Nanning West Bus Station to Yangmei Ancient Town directly.
• Take a sightseeing boat from Nanning Minsheng Pier and get off at Yangmei Pier.
• Rent a car/bus from GGC to enjoy a hassle free private transfer from hotels in Nanning to Yangmei Ancient Town.
