Know Before You Go

Day 1 Arrival in Chongqing, Chongqing Airport or Train Stations Pick-up
Meet your guide at Chongqing airport or train stations and transfer to your hotel in a comfortable private vehicle. After getting settled at the hotel, you may explore Chongqing on your own. Located some 1,400 miles (2,250 km) from the sea, at the confluence of the Yangtze and Jialing rivers, Chongqing is the leading river port, transportation hub, and commercial and industrial centre of the upper Yangtze River basin. Chongqing was the capital of China during the Anti-Japanese War from 1937 to 1945.

Day 2 Dazu Rock Carvings, Ciqikou Ancient Town
Drive out of Chongqing to Dazu Rock Carvings (around 120km). Listed as a World Heritage Site, the Dazu Rock Carvings are made up of 75 protected sites containing some 50,000 statues, with over 100,000 Chinese characters forming inscriptions and epigraphs. Dazu Rock Carvings was built from 650 in the Tang Dynasty and continued to the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) and the Qing Dynasty (1616-1911). The Buddhist statues dominate in this rock carving group, the Taoist and the Confucian stone figures can also be seen. Dazu Rock Carvings represent the harmonious synthesis of Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism. Back to Chongqing in the afternoon, visit Ciqikou Ancient Town which is situated on the bank of the Jialing River, not far from its confluence with the mighty Yangtze River, with authentic as well as restored buildings, where local residents still live in the traditional way of life. Ciqikou remains a symbol and microcosm of old Chongqing and it has preserved its ancient streets, with many tea houses, restaurants, shops for craftworks and souvenirs.

Day 3 Wulong Karst National Park
The Wulong Karst is divided into three areas containing the Three Natural Bridges, the Qingkou Tiankeng and Furong Cave respectively. It is a part of the Wulong Karst National Geology Park as well as part of the South China Karst, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Furong Cave is amongst the most beautiful caves in the world. Discovered in May 1993, Furong Cave is located where the Furong and Wu rivers meet and is almost 3 kilometers long. You will see beautiful stalactites and stalagmites lit up in all kinds of colors around you, some reaching more as 15 meters including a stone waterfall. It is a scientific cavern museum and the only nominated site for World Natural Heritage in China so far. The Three Natural Bridges are together with Furong Cave the two most visited sites of the Wulong Karst National Park. It is a 1200-meter-long gorge with, as the name says, three bridges shaped by nature over millions of years.
