Xiamen Cruise Port Pick-up & Transfer to Yongding Chuxi Tulou Cluster

Explore Chuxi Tulou Cluster
Considered the most picturesque Fujian tulou cluster, Yongding Chuxi Tulou Cluster is another UNESCO World Heritage Site with five large circular buildings, 10 rectangular buildings, scatted on mountains, A small path made of cobblestones links these clusters. Behind the buildings are terraced hills and dense forests. Dating to the Ming Dynasty (1368–1644), Chuxi Tulou Cluster is a Hakka village inhabited by Xu clan, whom settled down in the 14th century. The first tulou was Heqing Building, which was the ancestry tulou of the village. Tulous built later in the village were named with a Chinese character qing, with a wish of having a flourishing population. The most well-known tulou buildings are Jiqing Building, Yuqing Building, Gengqing Building, Shengqing Building, Shanqing Building and, Xiqing Building. Built in 1419 during the reign of Emperor Yongle of the Ming dynasty, Jiqing Building is the oldest as well as the largest round tulou in this cluster. It consists of two concentric rings, the outer ring building is four storeys tall, with 53 rooms on each level. The outer ring has 72 staircases. The second ring is a one-storey building.

Discover Nanxi Tulou Cluster
Nanxi is a creek passing through the valley, surrounded by green mountains and terraces. Along the creek, there are over 100 tulous of different shapes: round, square, octagon, hexagon, triangle, D-shape, ellipse, and even round and square combinations. Tulous scattered along the creek look like a dragon snaking for tens of kilometers. For its striking visual effect, the area is called "Tulou Great Wall". Two tulous from Nanxi Tulou cluster are on the UNESCO World Heritage List, Yanxiang Building and Zhenfu Building.

Transfer Back to Xiamen Cruise Port
After visiting Nanxi Tulou Cluster, this Xiamen private day trip comes to the end. Your guide and driver will transfer you back to Xiamen Cruise Port (3 hours).
