Hotel Pick-up & Transfer to Tianmen Mountain Cable Car Station
Your private guide will be holding GoGrandChina pick-up sign and waiting for you in your hotel lobby (or other appointed meeting place) at the appointed time. You will be transferred to Tianmen Mountain Cable Car Station.

Introducing Tianmen Mountain
Tianmen literally means "Gate to Heaven" in Chinese. The steep cliff face of the mountain collapsed and formed a 130 meter (426 feet) high and 30 meter (98 feet) wide "cave," or a natural bridge, in the year of 263. Since then, the mountain has been named as Tianmen. Tianmen Mountain has been called "one of the most beautiful mountains in the world” by visitors. It has huge quartzite sandstone peaks and a giant natural sandstone arch, offering astonishing scenery. With natural miracles present in the Tianmen Cave and the impressive forest, the site has been frequented by writers, poets, artists and emperors, as well as monks since ancient times. The Cableway located on the mountain is reportedly the "longest passenger cableway of high mountains in the world" and has 98 cars and a total length of 7,455 metres (24,459 ft).

Take a cable car up to Tianmen Mountain
Tianmen Mountain Cable Car is the longest cable car system in the world. Spanning 7 kilometers, it takes 30 minutes to travel from the city of Zhangjiajie to the top of Tianmen Mountain.

Yunmeng Fairy Summit
At the top of Tianmen Mountain, it is the Yunmeng Fairy Summit, from which you can enjoy captivating views of Tianmen Mountain and Wulingyuan Scenic Area.

Tianmen Mountain Temple
Located on the top of the summit, Tianmen Mountain Temple has been a pilgrimage site since the Tang Dynasty (618 to 907) and it is the Buddhist center of Western Hunan province.

The Cliff Hanging Walkway
The Cliff Hanging Walkway is named Guigu (Ghost Valley) Plank Way in Chinese. The plank way is built on the over 1,400 meter (4,593 feet.) high steep cliff. Walk the narrow plank paths tenuously attached to the side of Tianmen Mountain. It is called a plank way (plank ways were all made from wood in ancient times) but now it is a poured concrete walkway with a railing. There is nothing underneath of the pathway except for air. One section of the plank way has glass floors which is known as Sky Walk.

Tianmen Gate & 99 Steps
Descend to Tianmen Gate that gives the mountain its name. There is also an escalator built inside the mountain which will take you to Tianmen Gate and 999 Steps. You can challenge the 999 Steps by hiking or take the escalator at your own extra cost to get down to the bottom of the 99 Steps.

Shuttle Bus to Cable Car Station
From 99 Steps, you will take a shuttle bus down the winding 99-Bend Road, which curls sinuously around the mountainside to the cable car station where you will meet your private driver.

Transfer Back to Your Hotel
Your guide and driver will transfer you back to your hotel.
