Know Before You Go
• This tour starts in Nanjing, ends in Shanghai.
• Chaotian Gong (Nanjing Municipal Museum) is closed on Monday tours.
• Suzhou Museum is closed on Monday tours.
• Keep your passport with you throughout the tour; it may be needed to buy entrance tickets.

Day 1 Arrival in Nanjing, Nanjing Airport or Train Station Pickup
Meet your guide at Nanjing airport or train stations and transfer to your hotel in a comfortable private vehicle. After getting settled at the hotel, you may explore Nanjing on your own. Situated in the Yangtze River Delta region, Nanjing has a prominent place in Chinese history and culture, having served as the capital of various Chinese dynasties, kingdoms and republican governments dating from the 3rd century to 1949. Nanjing is recognized as one of the Four Great Ancient Capitals of China.

Day 2 Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum, Xiaoling Tomb, Chaotian Gong, Zhonghua Gate, Confucian Temple Area, Bullet Train to Wuxi
Morning visit to Sun Yat-sen's Mausoleum. Sun Yat-sen is known as the father of modern China and influential in overthrowing the Qing dynasty in 1911. With deep historical significance, magnificent architecture, and beautiful scenery, Sun Yat-sen's Mausoleum is a must see when visiting Nanjing. Next, stroll along the tree-lined 618 meter long Sacred Way, lined with stone statues of lions, camels, elephants and horses that drive away evil spirits and guard the Xiaoling Tomb of Ming Dynasty where the founding emperor of the Ming dynasty was buried. Continue with a visit to Chaotian Gong, once an imperial palace in the Ming dynasty, and today the Nanjing Municipal Museum. Then, visit Zhonghua Gate, one of the best preserved and most intricate barbicans in the world. Zhonghua Gate is part of the 35 kilometer City Wall of Nanjing built between 1366 and 1386. Afterwards, wander around the Confucian Temple Area to enjoy an impressive view of the beautiful Qinhuai River. Take bullet train to Wuxi (approximately 1 hour) late in the afternoon.

Day 3 Lingshan Grand Buddha, Turtle Head Island, Lake Taihu Cruise, Liyuan Garden, Drive to Suzhou
Morning visit to the Lingshan Grand Buddha, one of the largest Buddha statues in China and also in the world. Lingshan Grand Buddha is a bronze Amitabha Buddha outdoor standing 88 meters in height. Next, enjoy a breathtaking natural scenery of Lake Taihu from the Turtle Head Island as an old Chinese saying goes "The superb view of the Taihu Lake lies in the Turtle Head Island". Relax on a 20 minute cruise on the Taihu Lake from Turtle Head Island to Fairy Island. Hike up to the top of Luding Hill to have panoramic view of the Turtle Head Island and Taihu Lake. Continue with a visit to the exquisitely designed Liyuan Garden, one of the most well-known lakeside gardens in China. Drive to Suzhou late in the afternoon.

Day 4 Humble Administrator's Garden, Suzhou Museum, Panmen Gate, Tiger Hill, Shantang Street, Drive to Shanghai
Visit the UNSCO World Heritage Site of Humble Administrator's Garden in the morning. The Humble Administrator's Garden is the largest garden in Suzhou and considered to be the finest garden in all of southern China. Next, visit Suzhou Museum said to be the last design of the Chinese-American architect Mr. Ieoh Ming Pei in his career. As a native of Suzhou, Mr. Ieoh Ming Pei combines traditional Suzhou architectural style and places the museum between the courtyards to harmonize the building with its surrounding environment. Continue with a visit to Panmen Gate which is the original entrance to the city of Suzhou and is said to boast a history spanning 2,400 years. Then, admire Tiger Hill, the oldest pagoda in Suzhou (2,500 years old) nichnamed the Leaning Tower of China. Afterwards, stroll along the 1200 year old Shantang Street with old residences and shops selling snacks and handcrafts, like wood engravings and embroideries. Watch wooden boats floating under small arched bridges, which add even more charm to this nostalgic part of town dating back to the Tang Dynasty. Drive to Shanghai late in the afternoon.

Day 5 People's Square, Shanghai Museum, Oriental Pearl TV Tower, the Bund & Nanjing Road, the French Concession & Tianzifang
Morning visit to the People's Square and Shanghai Museum. The People’s Square was once the finest racecourse in Asia before 1949; it is now a large open space in which locals hang out all day, every day, practicing Tai Chi and flying kites. Shanghai Museum is specially celebrated in the world for its rich and high-quality collection of 120,000 precious works of art including ancient Chinese bronze, ceramics, painting and calligraphy. Later, get to the second sphere of the Oriental Pearl TV Tower at a height of 263 meters to enjoy a bird's-eye view of Shanghai. Stroll along the Bund and nearby Nanjing Road. The Bund refers to Shanghai's famous waterfront stretching for 1.6km along the west shore of the Huangpu River. Nanjing Road is the main shopping street of Shanghai and one of the busiest shopping streets in the world. Afterwards, explore the tree-lined avenues of the French Concession where many fine old houses in the area still retain an air of the "Paris of the East". Explore the arts and crafts enclave in the trendy area of Tianzifang that has constructed from a refurbished domestic location in the French Concession area of Shanghai.
