Day 1 Arrival in Dali, Dali Airport or Train Stations Pick-up
Meet your driver at Dali airport or train stations and transfer to your hotel in a comfortable private vehicle. After getting settled at the hotel, you may explore Dali on your own. Dali has long been a regional centre of commerce, being located at a crossroads of trade routes between Tibet, China, Burma, and Southeast Asia. The Bai people first settled the region 3000 years ago. Dali first emerged as the capital of the Nanzhao Kingdom in the 8th century. Later, the town served as the capital of the Kingdom of Dali until its conquest by the Yuan conquest of the area. Dali is now one of the most popular tourist destinations in Southwest China's Yunnan, known for its natural scenery, historical and cultural heritage, and vibrant nightlife.

Day 2 Cruise Erhai Lake, Three Pagodas of Chongsheng Temple, Cangshan Mountain, Dali Old Town
Cruise the Erhai Lake to the Jinsuo Island, home to 200 Bai ethnic families and experience the culture and lifestyle of ethnic Bai people. Erhai Lake is an alpine fault lake and the second largest highland lake of China, after Dianchi Lake in Kunming. Next, visit Three Pagodas of Chongsheng Temple. Chongsheng Temple was once the royal temple of the Kingdom of Dali, originally built in the 9th century. Regarded as the symbol of Dali, the Three Pagodas enjoy a far-reaching history that could be dated back to 1,800 years ago in Nanzhao Kingdom. Take round trip Ximatan cable car to just 100m below the summit (4000m) of Cangshan Mountain. Hike kilometres of boardwalks to some beautiful scenic spots including the historic Ximatan (horse washing pool), where Kublai Khan rested his horses before conquering Dali in 1254. Afterwards, stroll along Dali Ancient Town, explore some historic sites in the town, such as the ancient city wall, Foreigners Street, Gate Towers and some old churches.

Day 3 Donglianhua Village, Weishan OLd Town, Weibao Mountain
Drive out of Dali to Donglianhua Village (around 40km) in the morning. Donglianhua is home to the Hui ethnic minority with its unique Islamic-styled architecture, dating back to the early Ming dynasty. Founded by Muslim soldiers originating from Central Asia, the village usurped as a key village along the Ancient Tea Horse Road. Continue with a visit to Weishan Old Town with its quaint brick-styled buildings and historic root as the birthplace of Nanzhao culture. Afterwards, hike up Weibao Mountain, renowned as one of the 14 famous Taoist mountains in China with its grandiose monasteries embraced between tall trees.

Day 4 Shaxi Old Town, Shibao Mountain
Drive out of Dali to Shaxi Old Town (around 63km) in the morning. Located halfway between Dali and Lijiang, the historic market town of Shaxi is a step back in time. As one of the most intact caravan towns in the Ancient Tea Horse Road, the prosperity of Shaxi Old Town reaches its height circa the Ming and Qing dynasties. Shaxi is dotted with traditional Bai architecture of Xizhou characterized with authentic bazaar, quaint alleyways, ancient shops, houses and village gates donning honeycomb patterns. Explore the bustling bazaar at Square Street, the Ancient Stage, Yujin Bridge and stroll along its quaint alleyways and village gates. Visit Shibao Mountain in the afternoon. Shibao Mountain is a fantastic nature reserve and religious site. There are numerous temples and grottoes as well as some fantastic views and walks amongst the old forests. The most prominent sight at Shibao Mountain is the Stone Bell Temple with its 139, well preserved stone carvings. Explore the ancient temple complex including Baoxiang Temple, Haiyun Temple, Shizhong Temple and the Ancient Grottoes.
