Introducing Moon Hill
Located in Gaotian Village, Yngshuo County, Yangshuo Moon Hill is an extraordinary sight with a height of about 380 meters. On the top of the hill is a huge penetrating hole, like the bright overhead moon, so this hill is called Moon Hill.

What to expect at Moon Hill

Yangshuo Moon Hill is located at the end of Ten Miles Gallery Scenic Area in Yngshuo County. You can enjoy the elegant and serene scenery there. The huge natural hole on the top of Moon Hill is like the hanged moon seen from distant. The shape of the hole is changing with different view. If you view this sight in a car, you will witness the shape of this hole changing from a curved new moon, a half moon to a full moon, then back to a new moon. Quite fantastic!

Tourists can climb along a 800-storey stairs to the hole. It is mysteriously huge, 50 meters of its height and width, only several meters of its thickness. The wall of the hole is so flat. There are many various shapes of stalactites at the roof, like a round mirror hanging on the top of the hill. In the north of the hole is a shorter hill, tourists can walk along the road to watch the hole.

The main sights on Yangshuo Moon Hill are Ten Miles Gallery, Big Banyan Tree, Butterfly Spring and Janshan Temple, etc. Yangshuo Moon Hill is a wonderful place for rock climbing. With a height of 20 meters, a width of 30 meters, the moon hole is a must site for rock climbers to challenge themselves. And there are many classic routes which excellent climbers have left.

How to get to Moon Hill
• Moon Hill is approximately 8 km away from Yangshuo.
• Visitors can hike from Yangshuo to Moon Hill ( 2-3 hours).
• Rent a bike or electric bike to get Moon Hill (1 hour).
• Rent a car/bus from GGC to enjoy a hassle free private transfer from hotels in Guilin or Yangshuo to Moon Hill.

• Please wear comfortable hiking shoes.
• Visitors can drift along Yulong River to the Moon Hill and enjoy the beautiful sceneries along the bank.
