Day 2 Terracotta Army, Emperor Qin's Mausoleum, Small Wild Goose Pagoda, Xian Museum, Great Mosque & Muslim Quarter
Morning visit to Terracotta Warriors. Considered one of the foremost archaeological discoveries of the 20th century, the 2,000-year-old Terracotta Army was discovered by accident in 1974 by local farmers digging a well. The 8,000-plus life-sized warriors are arranged in vaults to guard the Mausoleum of Qin Shihuang, the first emperor of China, a major architect of the Great Wall and unifier of China. Then you will visit the Mausoleum of Emperor Qin Shihuang which was constructed over 38 years, from 246 to 208 BC, and is situated underneath a 76-meter-tall tomb mound shaped like a truncated pyramid. In the afternoon, you will visit the 1300 year old Tang Dynasty constructed Small Wild Goose Pagoda, a perfect example of the multi-eaved square brick pagodas built in ancient China. Then you will visit Xian Museum which boasts nearly 130,000 relics that all relate to the history of Ancient China and Xian specifically. Your last stop will be the Great Mosque and Muslim Quarter. Being the starting point of the Silk Road, the ancient trade route linking China with the Middle East and Europe, Xian is deeply influenced by Islamic culture which is best observed in the Muslim Quarter. Xian Muslim Quarter covers several blocks with an estimated 60,000 Muslims in the region. There are about seven ancient mosques in the area, among which the Great Mosque is the most famous and popular among all. At Xian's Muslim Quarter you will find a seemingly endless labyrinth of street food, restaurants and bustling local life.

Constructed in 652 AD, the Big Wild Goose Pagoda stands at an impressive 64 meters tall and from the top it offers a great panoramic view over Xian. Daci'en Temple was built in 648 AD by Crown Prince Li Zhi who later became Emperor Gaozong in honour of his mother, Empress Wende for her kindness and grace. Then you will visit Shaanxi History Museum which houses over 370,000 items, including murals, paintings, pottery, coins, as well as bronze, gold, and silver objects. In the afternoon you will visit Xian City Wall, one of the oldest and best-preserved city walls in the world. Walking atop the Wall you can get the panorama of Xian skyline. Later, you will visit Forest of Stone Steles Museum which was originally built in 1078 on the site of former Confucian Temple for the preservation of Confucian Classics. This museum now houses 3,000 steles displaying works of calligraphy, painting and historical records. It is a splendid treasury of Chinese art and history.

Thereafter, it is a Buddhist place of pilgrimage due to the discovery of what is claimed as a true relic of Buddha. Upon arrival, you will visit Namaste Dagoba with a height of 148 meters and worship the finger bone of the Gautama Buddha (Sakyamuni). This Famen Temple tour lasts for about two hours. In the afternoon, you will visit Qianling Mausoleum where China’s only female emperor, Wu Zetian was buried with her husband Emperor Gaozong. After breakfast, you will be transferred to Mount Huashan for an two hour ride by a comfortable air-conditioned private vehicle. Mount Huashan has long been regarded as the most precipitous mountain in China, edged with sheer granite rock face, rugged cliffs and deep valleys. Its pathway is also one of the most treacherous, winding its way two thousand feet high to a narrow ledge on the rock face. Mount Huashan is one of the five Taoist sacred mountains of China. It is a place steeped in legend, where the very rocks are engraved with tales and poems from its long history; where gods are said to have performed magic, where emperors have worshiped and sacrificed; and where forefathers of Taoism have set down their religious legacies. Mount Huashan is both naturally and culturally a vital national inheritance to China and the world. Upon arrival, you will take the cable car to approach the North Peak at an elevation of about 1,614 meters (5,298 feet). You will hike southward from the North Peak and pass through the Ear-Touching Cliff and Canglongling (Black Dragon Ridge) - one of the most famous steep paths on Mt. Huashan. If you are energetic enough, you may also consider hiking up to East Peak, South Peak or West Peak. Then  you will return to the North Peak to get down the mountain by cable car.

Loved the 6-Days tour in Xian, the highlight were in the sceond day,we visited the Terracotta Warriors, Emperor Qin's Mausoleum, Small Wild Goose Pagoda, Xian Museum, Great Mosque & Muslim Quarter. the Terracotta Warriors were so impressive. What's more, the driver is very punctual first thing in the morning. The guide, Zheng, is very knowledgeable about the history, significant dates, and culture of Xi'an. He knows the best markets and restaurants in the Muslim Quarter, and shares his own experience living in the Xi'an. There's plenty of time for photos. I highly recommend this tour.
