Introducing Nanhu Lake Park
Nanhu Lake Park is located in the southeast of Nanning City and features aquatic sceneries and subtropical gardening landscapes. Nanhu Lake Park covers an area of 1.3 square kilometers (about 0.5 square miles) and a quarter of the whole park is covered by the lake. Nanhu Lake was once a brook connected to a river but during the Tang Dynasty (618-907), a major flood occurred and submerged the surrounding fields and houses, which was how Nanhu Lake Park was created.

What to expect at Nanhu Lake Park

Lies in the Qingxiu District, the southeast of the city, Nanhu Lake Park is a combination of water landscape and subtropical garden scenery. Having a width of 930,000 square kilometers, Nanhu Lake is so clear as a mirror, shinning with a sparkling light. Nanhu Lake is originally named Yong Stream, connecting to Yong River, Every time there is a flood in Yong River, numbers of terraces and cottages will be submerged by the river water. In the Year of Jinyun in Tang Dynasty, Sima Lv called for workers to build a reservoir to control the frequent flood, that is the later Nanhu Lake. In 1972, this area was officially opened up as a park with subtropical plants as its main features.

Three quarters of Nanhu Lake Park are waters. Long Di and Nine Arch Bridge are on the lake. In Nanhu Lake Park, there are also Display Hall of Baise Uprising, Plant Garden, Water Recreational Areas and Water Curtain Movies, etc.

How to get to Nanhu Lake Park
• Take Metro Line 1 to Nanhu Lake. Then walk around 1.3 km to the park.
• Take bus 8, 20, 33, 34, 51, 60, 65, 80, 117, 215, B3, B11, B14, B86 or B126 to Nanhu Lake Park.
• Rent a car/bus from GGC to enjoy a hassle free private transfer from hotels in Nanning to Nanhu Lake Park.
