Qianling Park

Introducing Qianling Park
Qianling Park, in the northwestern part of Guiyang, takes its name from Mount Qianling, which known as southern Guizhou's No 1 mountain. Qianling Park is covered with thick vegetation and old trees characteristic of the Guizhou Plateau, with more than 1,500 types of flowers and trees and at least 1,000 types of medicinal herbs. Clear springs and strange rocks can be seen everywhere with a lot of rhesus monkeys and birds.

What to expect at Qianling Park

Going up the mountain along the winding path, you reach the Hongfu Temple, built at the end of the Ming and beginning of the Qing Dynasty, more than 300 hundred years ago, and one of Guizhou's most famous temples. It and Kylin Cave, at foot of the mountain, and cliff carvings on the mountain are all provincial protected sitesl. Zhang Xueliang and Yang Hucheng, two famous generals, stayed in Kylin Cave under house arrest during the Anti-Japanese War. The cliff carvings can be seen along the path to Hongfu Temple and, near the Kanzhu Pavilion, at the top of the Mountain, you can get a panoramic look at Guiyang.

Qianling Lake is at foot of the mountain, with green waves and a mirror-like surface dotted with tourist boats. Under pines and cypresses, there is revolutionary monument to martyrs on the bank. Qianling Park is a multi-function tourist park, with a zoo in the peaceful valley. There is also evidence of glaciations during the Quaternary period preserved on the mountain. Qianling Park is a distinguished place, one of interest, and a great place for teaching and field work, thanks to its complicated geological structure and a plant variety.

Additional travel advice on Qianling Park
• Do not feed wild life in the park.
• Do not touch or tease monkeys because it will irritate them cause serious consequences.
• The monkeys in the scenic area may grab food, bags or cameras from tourists. Please take care of your belongings. Do not hold food or water bottles in hands.
