Introducing Yaoshan Mountain
Yaoshan Mountain lies in the eastern suburbs of Guilin. Its main peak's elevation is 909.3 meters, making Yaoshan Mountain the highest hill in Guilin. The mountain is a south-north boundary linked Guilin and Lingchuan County. The Yaoshan Mountain got its name because there was once a Yao emperor temple on top of it built thousand years ago.

What to expect at Yaoshan Mountain

Yaoshan Mountain is known as the best place to have a bird's-eye view of the landscape of Guilin. From the mountaintop you can see a huge natural reclining Buddha to the southeast, like the Buddha sleeping on the lotus. It is said that whoever reaches the peak, Buddha will bless him good fortune and success.

A 1416-meter long cable car connects the peak and foot to enable tourists travel through forests in 20 minutes. The toboggan slide offers tourists a more stimulating and entertaining experience when going down. Both of the facilities not only save time and energy but also offer a beautiful view of rocks, flowers and forests. Travelers can also choose to climb up the mountain by foot and get a closer feeling to the nature.

Its beauty will not let you down as the Yaoshan Mountain is famous for colorful scenery in different seasons. In spring, azaleas dressed the mountain colorful everywhere; in summer, pines and bamboo vivify it together with stream; red maples and chrysanthemum cover the hill in fall; snow in winter makes it like a pure crystal and an entire wonderland.

On foot of the Yaoshan Mountain, the Mausoleum of Prince Jingjiang is worth visiting. The large-scaled mausoleum has more than 300 tombs, as famous as Ming Tombs in Beijing. Ancient treasures displayed in its museum show honor and glory of the noble family in the past. The mausoleum provides precious reference and antiques to the obsequies culture in Ming Dynasty.

How to get to Yaoshan Mountain
• Take bus No. 13, 24 or Lingchuan 116 and get off at Jingjiang Wangling Station. Then walk around 1.2 km to the scenic area.
• Take a taxi or rent a vehicle to Yaoshan Scenic Area.

Additional travel advice on Yaoshan Mountain
• Please wear comfortable walking shoes.
• To avoid attracting bees, it is not suggested to wear perfume.
