Day 1 Arrival in Lanzhou, Lanzhou Airport Pick-up
Your AirAsia flight will arrive at Lanzhou Airport at 22:20. You will be met and greeted by GoGrandChina professional driver and transferred to hotel in Lanzhou. Lanzhou is the capital and largest city of Gansu Province in Northwest China. Situated on the upper reaches of the Yellow River, Lanzhou has been a major stop on the ancient Silk Road.

Day 2 Lanzhou, Liujiaxia Reservoir, Cruise on Yellow River, Bingling Temple Grottoes
After breakfast at hotel, you will be transferred to Liujiaxia Reservoir for a 90 minute drive. Liujiaxia Reservoir is formed by the Liujiaxia Dam on the Yellow River. The primary purpose of the Liujiaxia dam is generating electricity; in addition, it is used for flood control and irrigation. When it became fully operational in 1974, it became China's largest hydroelectric power plant, and remained so until the 1980s. Cruise on the Yellow River for about 40 minutes, you will arrive at Bingling Temple Grottoes. Bingling means thousand Buddhas or 10,000 Buddhas in Tibetan language. the Bingling Temple is a series of grottoes filled with Buddhist sculpture carved into natural caves and caverns in a canyon along the Yellow River. In the afternoon, drive for three hours to Xiahe, the largest Tibetan monastery town outside Lhasa. Xiahe exists due to the Labrang Monastery which is one of the six main Tibetan monasteries of the Gelupka sect.

Day 3 Xiahe, Labrang Monastery, Ganjia Prairie, Tibetan Family Visit, Drive to Tongren
Morning visit to Labrang Monastery. The Labrang Monastery is one of the six great monasteries of the Gelukpa (Yellow Hat) Sect and it is home to the largest number of monks outside of Tibet Autonomous Region. Founded in 1709, Labrang Monastery is one of the largest Buddhist monastic universities. The monastery contains 18 halls, six institutes of learning, a golden stupa, a sutra debate area, and houses nearly 60,000 sutras. In the afternoon you will visit Ganjia Prairie, a picturesque Tibetan grassland where sheep and yaks are dotted here and there under the blue sky and along breathtaking loess plateau landscape. The following Tibetan family visit will help you know more about Tibetan life style and local customs in depth. Continue to drive to Tongren (3 hours)

Day 4 Tongren, Wutun Monastery, Rongwo Monastery, Drive to Xining
Visit the Wutun Monasteries in the morning. The two Wutun Monasteries (upper and lower Wutun Monasteries) are famous throughout Tibet for its beautiful artwork of Buddhist art of Thangka. Upper Wutun Monastery is magnificently decorated, and the surface of the entire assembly hall has been carved and painted with traditional Regong designs. Lower Wutun Monastery boasts a much livelier monastery as the location for ceremonies and festivities that draw crowds of local worshippers. Learn Thangka painting from a Tibetan monk. A Thangka is a painted or embroidered banner which was hung in a monastery or a family altar and carried by lamas in ceremonial processions. Visit the 12th century built Rongwo Monastery in the afternoon. Drive to Xining (2 & half hours).

Day 5 Xining, Riyue Mountain, Qinghai Lake, Kumbum Monastery
Morning visit Qinghai Lake. On the way, visit Riyue Mounation (Sun & Moon Mountain), a memorial dedicated to the Tang Dynasty Princess Wencheng, who is credited as one of the people who brought Buddhism to Tibet. Riyue Mounation marks the boundary between the eastern agricultural area and the western pastoral area of Qinghai Province. From the top of the mountain there is a superb panorama of the beautiful landscape - both prairie and farmland. Continue to drive to Qinghai Lake. Qinghai Lake is the largest lake in China which stretches 105 km at length and 63 km at width and occupies a surface area of over 4,500 square kilometers. At 3200 meters above the sea level, Qinghai Lake was considered to be a holy lake by both Tibetans and Mongolians. It is evaluated as China's Most Beautiful Lake by China National Geographic. Visit Kumbum Monastery in the afternoon. Built in 1560 by the third Dalai Lama, Kumbum monastery is one of the six most important Gelukpa (Yellow Sect) monasteries in Tibet. It is the birthplace of Gelukpa founder, Tsongkhapa. His disciples later on became the ancestors of the Living Buddha system, Dalai Lama and Panchan Lama.

Day 6 Bullet Train to Lanzhou, City Tour, Departure from Lanzhou
After breakfast at hotel, you will be transferred to Xining train station to board a bullet train to Lanzhou (2 hours). Upon arrival in Lanzhou, visit Waterwheel Garden, the oldest irrigation tool along the Yellow River. Afterwards, you will visit the Iron Bridge of Yellow River and White Pagoda Mountain. Completed in 1909, the German-made  Iron Bridge of Yellow River represents the first permanent bridge built on the Yellow River. White Pagoda Mountain affords a great bird's eye view of Lanzhou City.
